Let us look at the reality of ... NEANDERTHAL MAN

IF WE ALLOW OURSELVES TO BELIEVE THIS, WE WILL BELIEVE ANYTHING

One of the most important things that exercises the mind of a Scripture student is not only to see but to perceive the meaning when reading The Word of God. Here is a statement which is often seen, but rarely perceived:

These are the generations of the heavens and of the earth when they were created. In the day that the Lord God made the earth and the heavens and every plant of the field before it was in the earth and every herb of the field before it grew...and the Lord God formed man of the dust of the earth.

The first part of this statement gives the title of the passage which follows, the two generations, the heaven and the earth. The book of Genesis is The Book of Generations. The details of each generation [Hebrew: TOLEDOTH] follow the statement ‘These are the Generations of’.
By example: These are the generations of Jacob [Gen. 37:2]
These generations always relate to a man. The generations referred to in the verse above is no exception.

The generations of the heavens is that of Cain [Gen. 4:14] The generations of the earth is that of Seth [Gen.4:25] The next generation which follows is that of Adam.
This important subject concerning the generations of the heavens and the earth is examined further in another article in the leaflet: BY GRACE No.19.
The sentence which follows is the one we wish to examine:

In the day that the Lord God made
the earth and
the heavens and
every plant of the field before it was in the earth
and every herb of the field before it grew.

Prior to this verse, in the first chapter of Genesis, God describes His activities during the seven days of His re-forming, re-construction and creation of the earth. This followed the action which caused the earth to be without form and void. The verse above refers to a particular one of these days. Which day? On which day does God make first the heavens and then the earth? Which day preceded the growth of every herb ?

God is therefore drawing our attention to the middle part of the third day.

Now that we have established the time that is referred to as 'In the day that', what does God now do? In verse seven, He says:

And The Lord God formed the man from the dust of the ground and breathed into his nostrils the breath of life, and the man became a living soul.

So The Man was formed in the middle of the third day. There are three things to note:

1. In Hebrew, the God breathed Word, for the word man is אדם [Adam]. Adam himself is always known as וּלְאָדָ֣ם prefixed with the definite article [THE Adam].

2. Later, mankind is just אדם [adam].

3. The Hebrew word for this action is יצֶר֩ meaning 'to form'. The Hebrew word for God’s additional action 'to create' is arb which was applied to Adam on the sixth day.

THE FORMED MAN, ADAM

What do we know about Adam in this formed condition prior to his creation? Here is a list of each Scripture item:

He was a living soul.
He lived on the earth, on the undivided land mass called Eden.
He lived in a garden to the east of Eden that God designed for him
His job was to dress and keep the garden.
He had every tree that was good for food.
He had the Tree of Life to sustain him continually.
He had The Tree of The Knowledge of Good and Evil, testing his obedience.
He named every beast of the field and every fowl of the air.
He was given a choice of these beasts and fowls for companionship,
He refused them so God made woman from his own body.
He recognised the woman as his wife, being one flesh.
He and his wife were naked and not ashamed.

Thus was the condition of the formed man and his wife, from the middle of the third day to the sixth day when the man and his wife were created, i.e. when God performed an act of creation upon them.

THE CREATED MAN, ADAM

Following the man’s forming on the third day, on the sixth day, God makes a creative act upon him:

And God said let us make man in our image after our likeness: and let them have dominion over the fish of the sea and over the fowl of the air and over the cattle and over all the earth and over every creeping thing that creepeth upon the earth.
So God created the man in His own image, in the image of God created He him; male and female created He them... And God said let them have dominion over the fowl of the air, and over every living thing that moveth upon the earth.
So God created man in His own image, in the image of God created He him, male and female created He them [Gen 1:26-27]

We know that whenever God acts, He acts perfectly. There is no fault in any of those activities that stem directly from God. He therefore says at the end of the six days, before He rests on the seventh:

God saw everything that He had made and behold it was very good

So what did this act of creation do for Adam and his wife, which was different or additional to the act of forming? Here is a list of each Scripture item taken from Genesis chapter one verses 27 to 30:

The man and his wife were created in God's image. [Gen 1:27]
God blessed them. [Gen1:28]
They were commanded to be fruitful and multiply, replenish the earth and subdue it.
They were to have dominion over the fish of the sea, over the fowl of the air and over every creeping thing that creepeth upon the earth.
God gave them every herb bearing seed which is upon the face of all the earth for food. [Gen1:29]
God gave them every tree which is the fruit yielding seed for food. [Gen 1:29]
God gives to every beast of the earth, every fowl of the air and every thing that creepeth upon the earth wherein there is a living soul.every green herb for food.

Note:
This correct sequence is based upon the forming of Adam on the THIRD day [Gen 2: 5 and 7] followed by his creation on the SIXTH day [Gen 1: 27] This sequence is confirmed by the fact that the fowls of the air were also formed on the THIRD day [Gen 2:19] before Adam was given dominion over them on the SIXTH day [Gen 1:26].

THE SINFUL MAN, ADAM

In the second chapter of Genesis, under the heading: These are the generations of the heaven and the earth we are introduced to a process which brought about the disobedience of The woman and The man. We are told that they preferred to listen and be beguiled by the serpent rather than obey the strict order of God. It happened because the woman saw that the fruit of the Tree of the Knowledge of Good and Evil was:

Good for food
Pleasant to the eyes
To be desired to make one wise

She took it, ate it, and gave it to the man and he ate it.

This disobedience was contrary to God’s will and must therefore have followed His statement at the end of the sixth day, because what He had made was now NOT very good. It is probable therefore that the serpent’s temptation which caused this disobedient act was made during the time that God rested on the seventh day. Eating of the fruit of the Tree of the Knowledge of Good and Evil brought about the following changes in the life of the man and the woman:

They now had the knowledge of two opposing ideologies, Good and Evil..
They discerned that they were naked.
They covered their nakedness..

In the cool of the day, i.e. early the next day, the eighth day, when God had completed His rest, He discovered what the man and the woman had done. So serious was their disregard of His Word that in judging them, He imposed the following additional conditions upon them:

God told the serpent that the woman and her seed would became his enemies.
God told the woman that she would conceive and give birth in much sorrow.
God told the woman: she would desire her husband and that he would rule over her.
God told the man that because he had hearkened unto the voice of his wife

the earth was cursed for his sake and
that in sorrow he would eat of it all the days of his life.
the earth would bring forth thorns and thistles to him.
he would eat the herb of the field.
he would eat bread in the sweat of his face
for he was taken out of the earth and to the earth would he return
The man names the woman as Eve because she was the mother of all living.

God made coats of skin to cover the man and the woman.
God told His Sons that the man is become as one of us, knowing good and evil
God drove the man out of the garden to till the ground from which he was taken,
God prevented the man from taking the fruit of the Tree of Life, and from eating and living for ever.

Thus many personal changes affected The Adam between the time he was formed from the earth through the time he was created on the sixth day, to the opening of the eighth day, after which he was ejected from the garden to till the earth.

Here is a summary of the sequence of the important changes listed above and detailed in Genesis 1:1 to 4:2

on the third day God FORMED the man from the dust of the earth
The man lived in and tended a garden that God planted
Every tree of the garden was for food except that of the knowledge of good and evil
The tree of Life gave the man complete healing
The woman was formed from his own body, corresponding to him and his helper.
The man and the woman in their innocence were naked and not ashamed

On the sixth day God CREATED the man and the woman His likeness.
The man and the woman were to be fruitful and multiply, filling the earth

On the seventh day, whilst God rested, the man and the woman sinned,
The man and the woman gained the knowledge of good and evil
The man and the woman became as God and His sons
The man and the woman knew they were naked.

On the morning of the day after God had rested, God judged Adam and Eve
They must eat the herb of the field
The man named his wife Eve, because she was the mother of all living
God made coats of skin to cover Adam and Eve
They were driven out of the garden
Having sinned and without the tree of life Adam and Eve would die
Adam knew his wife Eve, who then bore the twins, Cain and Abel

CONCLUSION

During Adam and Eve’s time of innocence from the THIRD day until their sin on the SEVENTH day, many offspring were born to them. Because of this, on the evening of the SIXTH day before Cain and Abel were born, Adam named his wife Eve, meaning life because she WAS the mother of all living. Their children were conceived during the fourth and fifth days without the Spiritual maturity of the knowledge of Good and Evil. These primitive beings, innocent living souls, offspring of Adam and Eve, are recognised in their fossil remains as NEANDERTHAL MAN. Reference is made to them by God when passing judgement upon Cain’s sin:

And in process of time it came to pass, that Cain brought of the fruit of the ground an offering unto the LORD. And Abel, he also brought of the firstlings of his flock and of the fat thereof. And the LORD had respect unto Abel and to his offering: But unto Cain and to his offering he had not respect. And Cain was very wroth, and his countenance fell. And the LORD said unto Cain, Why art thou wroth? and why is thy countenance fallen? If thou doest well, shalt thou not be accepted? and if thou doest not well, sin croucheth at the door. And unto thee shall be his desire, and thou shalt rule over him. [GEN 4:3-7]

Couching is a primitive, animal like stance of these early children of Adam. They became allied and dependent upon Cain who then generated the heavens. It can be shown that NEANDERTHAL MAN existed upon the Earth between 5,400bc approx. and 4,700bc approx. around 7000yrs ago.

THE LATEST FINDINGS OF MANS SCIENCE.
Neanderthal Man was a short hairier version of modern humans.
They are recognised as, [quote]: the closest relative of to-days humans.
They lived in Eurasia and became extinct about 30,000 years ago
New evidence shows that they were not stupid as had been thought.
They had bigger brains than modern man and are thought to have been able to speak
They lived side by side with modern humans for thousands of years but then vanished

COMMENT: The wildly distorted date of 30,000 years is quoted by scientists who refuse to acknowledge the fact that over the last seven thousand years, the speed of light has dramatically reduced. Ancient archaeological dating is based upon the rate of decay of the carbon 14.. This rate of decay is inversely related to the rate of change of the speed of light. The faster the speed of light, the slower is the change in the rate of decay of the carbon atom. [See By Grace: No: 6. The Speed of Light.].

7000 years ago the speed of light and its rate of change were very high. Thus the rate of decay of the carbon atom was very low compared with today's rate, the speed of light being very low at 144,000 miles per second. Therefore the rate of decay of the carbon atom is now very high. Scientists base their calculations on the false assumption that the rate of decay has been constant.

Thus the standard measurements are distorted, giving the impression that the correct 10,000yrs is 40,000yrs., and earlier dates are millions of years ago. However, the Scripture dating is accurate. Adam sinned in 4132bc.

It can be shown that NEANDERTHAL man was born upon the earth between approximately 4,300bc to 4,132bc, around 6,250 years ago.
